Mission and Strategic Plan
Mission and Strategic PlanSixty-one million people in the United States live with a disability. People with disabilities daily face explicit, implicit, and systematic discrimination in most areas of their lives. For certain populations of our community, the statistics are even worse. Due to poverty and systematic racism, Black people are more likely than white people to be disabled. They often have less access to services (especially those that are culturally responsive). In schools, Black students with disabilities are suspended at a higher rate than their white peers. Native Americans and Alaska Natives fair the worst. With a disability rate of 22% compared with African-Americans at 14% and Non-Hispanic whites at 11% they have one of the highest rates of disability and the least access to culturally-sensitive programs and services. Multiple studies have found that people with disabilities make up between one-third and one-half of all people killed by police. Black people who are also disabled are even more at risk. Unfortunately, these realities rarely make the headlines.
At Camp Linda, we believe that designing for inclusion makes the world a better place. While ultimately we hope to build a fully inclusive space designed by people with disabilities to assemble, in the age of Covid we see our biggest opportunity as helping inclusion-focused businesses and non-profit organizations. As such, our strategic priorities are as follows:
Empowering Inclusion-Focused Companies: As former CEOs and founders, our team is primed to help organizations that prioritize inclusion to get their technology and products out into the world. We do this through strategic courses and introductions to our network of VCs and angels.
Running Small Covid-Safe Programs: People with disabilities need a safe, fully inclusive space to assemble, connect, and let down their hair. Camp Linda’s mission is to create a space that does not mirror the outside world. One that is fully inclusive for people with disabilities and marginalized communities to come together, get a reprieve from the pressures of the outside world, and have critical conversations about how to make the world more inclusive. It is a safe haven from the outside world where people can shed their need to conform or hide parts of themselves.
Securing Property: We are in the process of searching for land where we can build the future of Camp Linda. We are interested in land donations, existing camps, or unique properties that can be built into a fully inclusive space.

Help Support the Creation of Camp Linda
We would love to connect with advisors, mentors and potential board members who can help us to bring this vision to life. We will be looking for a location for Camp Linda either in the form of land or an existing camp that is looking to move on. If you have land you would be interested in donating to a 501c3 or know someone who might be interested please be in touch. If you know someone who might be interested in donating towards this cause we’d love to talk. Please reach out to us at: [email protected]
